My contribution is an all-new series of Spacescapes inspired by images from the Hubble/Spitzer/GALEX Space Telescopes. Karen has created a batch of hand-knitted rugs from 100% post-consumer recycled fabric. This is a beautiful show in a fantastic venue.
We are having a reception for this show at the Carolina Brewery on Sunday, June 5, 2011, 4-6 pm. We'll have refreshments, hors d'oeuvres and color-packed artwork. See you then!

SPACE SYMPOSIUM IN CARRBORO, NC
I will be taking part in a Space Symposium in conjunction with my painting exhibition at the Carrboro Branch Library at McDougle Schools Media Center (see below), along with Linda Carmel, Shirley B. Little and Pat Merriman. Our featured guest is Dr. Gerald Cecil, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at UNC-CH and Director of the UNC- CH Observatory. We will view the artwork in the show and then convene a panel to discuss our interest in space as a source of artistic inspiration and our processes. Dr. Cecil promises to be a highly informative, thought-provoking speaker, whose interests span from outer space to the inner space of our earth's environment. There will be a Question-and-Answer session for audience participation.
The Symposium will take place Sunday, May 22 from 3:15-4:15 pm, and is presented by the Friends of the Carrboro Branch Library and the Orange County Arts Commission. McDougle Schools Media Center is located at 900 Old Fayetteville Road, Chapel Hill, NC, 27516, telephone 919-969-3006.

With a broken heart I note the passing of my great friend and Brother Steven Kimbrough, who died January 5, 2010 in an automobile accident. He was a musical soul mate and wrote many of the great songs of One Real Band. He was also a huge inspiration and influence on me personally.

I've changed the layout of my site. I think it's easier to navigate. Let me know what you think.
